My core training (1996 - 2000) was in Individual Psychology and Adlerian Counselling. Individual Psychology is built on the philosophical work of Alfred Adler. I hold a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling (2000) and Certificates in Counselling and Advanced Counselling Skills.
Other therapeutic models I have studied include Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, the Person-Centred approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness.
I have over 20 years’ varied experience as a counsellor, with a particular interest and expertise in grief, loss and the existential crisis that comes with terminal diagnosis.
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision and have over 14 years’ experience as a supervisor in a clinical setting as well as in private practice where my supervisees bring a variety of issues from anxiety and depression to gender dysphoria and family counselling.
Code of Ethics
As Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work with the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I'm based in a quiet village near Carlisle in North Cumbria, but work online as a counsellor and supervisor with people from all over the UK. Right now, due to the pandemic, all sessions are either online or by telephone. This means that you don't have to travel to Carlisle: distance is no object! Please email me here to for more information.
